History

Early Life

Bazz Kerrigan was born in Australia in to a line of dairy farmers renowned for their incredible cream, although Bazz's path to becoming a Dairy Farmer himself would be delayed by the Australian Civil War between the people of Australia and the native Emu population. Before leaving for war, Bazz married a young Australian woman. During the war, Bazz distinguished himself with remarkable melee prowess against the vicious Emus. Bazz did not leave the war unscathed, however. An Emu snatched an eye right from his head during combat and he was left with what he called "Brain Scars" from the war. These brain scars were likely PTSD from the extensive combat and the loss of multiple friends, including his beloved friend Dingleberry.

After the war, Bazz's wife left him shortly after becoming pregnant with their son Boyd Kerrigan. She kept Boyd's existence a secret from Bazz for most of the rest of his life.

Boyd sought employment in the outback as a hunter. He eventually emigrated to the United States and became a citizen of the Crossing.

Events in Saint's Crossing

While hunting in the Grizzly Mountains, Bazz's beloved horse Mango slipped and fell off a mountain pass. Bazz narrowly survived the fall, but Mango did not. Heartbroken and alone, Bazz struggled for survival for months in the frozen wilderness. He learned how to hunt with his bare hands and survive only with what was in his pockets. When two native Americans approached Bazz, he thought he had been saved. However, they attacked Bazz for trespassing on their land. Bazz's military training kicked in and he managed to kill his attackers. He took one of their horses and headed back to civilization.

Upon returning to civilization, Bazz Kerrigan befriended United States Biological Surveyor Barkley Oglethorpe, calling him "Dingleberry" due to his striking resemblance to his friend lost in the Australian Civil War. Bazz also fell in love with a woman named Sadie, calling her "Sadie the Pretty Lady." However, when Barkley and Oglethorpe got mixed up in a Chicken Rustling plot, leading to Bazz's arrest, the Saint's Crossing Sheriff's Department informed Sadie, dashing his chances of marrying her.

Felt he had been besmirched by the Law, Bazz began a friendship with Jack Kettleman and began robbing banks with the Kettleman Gang. Jack and Bazz would eventually come up with the idea to start the K&K Diamond company. Their idea was to work with the DiCenzo Family to create an alternative currency for criminals who often have negative balances in their bank accounts due to fines from the Saint's Crossing Sheriff's Department. When gangs would rob banks, the gold bars and cash would be sold to the DiCenzo Family in exchange for diamonds and eventually other gems. K&K would sell the diamonds back to the DiCenzo family to begin the cycle anew. This project was finally getting off the ground when Bazz was killed by the Sheriff's Department.

This resulted in a rivalry with Deputy Emmett Braithwaite that would last until even after Braithwaithe left the Law Department and returned to civilian life. Emmett Braithwaite had attempted to murder his wife, thinking that he did and got away with the crime. Although charges were not pressed, Bazz suspected Emmett had something to do with it and would frequently torment Emmett by asking, "How's the wife?" Years later, Jack Kettleman and Bazz would find Emmett's wife, kidnap Emmett, and standby while they let her murder him.

Bazz also had a series of rivalries with Tommy Two Snakes, son of The Bathhouse leader Mama Christine. This rivalry reached fever pitch when Tommy Two Snakes began working for Emmett Braithwaite.

Not all of the Saint's Crossing Sheriff's Department hated Bazz, however; as Bazz would marry Deputy Jackson Kerrigan. However, after marrying Bazz, Jackson was tricked by Sheriff Banks who faked an investigation into the secret ingredient in Kerrigan's Kreme. When she disclosed the existence of the investigation to Bazz, Sheriff Banks had her kicked her out of the Department. Bazz, Jack, and Jackson would confront Sheriff Banks and Jackson would shoot Banks, causing him to fall off a cliff and die. A member of the Kettleman Gang who took Sheriff Banks' body to town would go to Sisika for the murder but never disclosed who the killer was. Jackson would eventually turn herself in for this crime, despite Bazz's objections. While she was in Sisika, deputies from the Saint's Crossing Sheriff's Department would confront Bazz on Kerrigan's Ranch, resulting in a gun fight that resulted in Bazz's death. Bazz was buried on the cliff overlooking Kerrigan's Ranch.

Coming from a long line of dairy farmers in Australia, Bazz attempted to start a dairy farm. At first, he settled at Hanging Dog Ranch. However, he was met with constant harassment from the Wapiti Tribe. Bazz tried to establish peace by sacrificing his lucky-but-rotting potato (a gift from Jackson Riggs when they were dating) to "the tree" outside of Hanging Dog Ranch. This did little to stop the harassment. Eventually, Bazz moved the ranch to the current location of Kerrigan's Ranch outside of Blackwater. The deed for the ranch was obtained through questionable means by Danny Kerrigan, and it might be forged. Danny would reveal to Bazz around this time that he too was a small child during the Australian Civil War and his home was attacked by Emus. The Emus killed his immediate family, but his brother hid Danny. Danny would come to idolize Bazz when he saw him at a war parade some time later. Bazz adopted Danny as his son, unaware that he had fathered Boyd Kerrigan who was being raised by Bazz's brother Terrance Kerrigan.
