Welcome to your first steps on joining The Saint's Crossing Sheriff's Department! Please follow along this entire guide to make sure your journey providing LEO roleplay on WildRP is a success.

FAQ

Do I need previous LEO experience to be considered?

Previous experience is not necessary! The most important factors considered in an application are generally RP quality and etiquette, as our Law players have a lot of power to influence roleplay scenes for criminals and civilians alike, as well as their fellow LEOs.

Do I need to apply in-character?

While you are welcome to express your interest in the role on an in-character level, please know that our LEOs cannot bypass the OOC process. You will still have to fill out the application and perform the OOC interview. In the meantime, you are welcome to talk to our current department members and hear about their experiences in the department.

Can I apply with an existing character, or will I need to make a new one?

You may apply with an existing character you have already been playing on the server. That being said, keep in mind the importance of lawfulness. A character who has committed crime in the past, especially violent crime or major crime such as bank/train robberies will have a much more difficult time getting into the department. Your character will need to prove their newfound sense of lawfulness to the other characters in the department and gain their trust. We ask that players do not apply to join the LEO department before resolving any previous criminal activity/storylines, and keep in mind that "redemption arcs" may take a long time and a lot of effort, even after criminal activity has ceased. Please click here for general tips for lawfulness, which is especially important when trying to redeem a formal criminal character.

The Process

Fill out the OOC application

To begin the journey of getting the role, please fill out the OOC application found here. Once staff has reviewed your application, you will receive a bot message confirming whether or not you have made it to the next stage.

OOC Interview

Similar to our allowlisting process, once approved, you will have an OOC interview scheduled to be conducted over voice chat in Discord. You do not need to prepare anything ahead of time for this interview, as the main goal of this interview stage is to gauge your mindset regarding law RP.

Next Steps

Once your OOC interview has been completed, the rest of the process will be handled IC. Good luck on your application!

What does it mean to be lawful?

While this question may be vague, we always recommend using your best judgment!

Here are some things a lawful character would do: (These are suggestions/ideas and do not need to be followed directly):

  • Work with the sheriffs and deputies
  • Disapprove of crimes
  • Follow the laws
  • Stick around lawful characters
  • Avoid being around criminals if possible

Here are some things lawful characters wouldn’t do:

  • Hide things or withhold info from sheriffs and deputies
  • Commit crimes themselves
  • Approve of crimes
  • Willingly be around often (building relationships with) people who are known criminals
  • Assist criminals be it information, supplies, etc.
