Nathan Yang is a Ranger recruit of Saint's Crossing. He is known among the Rangers as the one with the longest tenure as a recruit, donning his grey poncho since September of 1900.

Finding protection

Nathan eventually found himself in Saint's Crossing, staying in the Strawberry Welcome Center for a while to develop his new persona. From there, he gathered supplies and headed for Valentine, looking to see who he might meet. After of few days of hunting and drinking, he happened upon Walter Cross in Valentine. After introducing himself, he explained that he was looking for work and that he was willing to do most anything. Intrigued, Cross told his right-hand man, Douglas, to give him the test. After testing his resolve, Cross gave sent him on a mission: To bring him a member of the Black Powder Gang, whether by infiltration or force.
