Armadillo is one of the last remaining boomtowns of the American West. Limited access to supplies and water has left Armadillo susceptible to disease outbreaks, and rough times financially have caused many local businesses to shutter their doors. The town is frequently plagued by outlaws, and the law struggles to maintain a foothold in the region. The main forms of commerce in the town include shipping via the railway and livestock trade, a central market for the various ranches around the desert.
