First, it must be understood that Local Doctors exist to help relieve the pressure on those in the Medical service role as they cannot be online 24/7. This allows the community to continue with their stories in the brief absence of medical personnel. They are meant to display the same skills, aptitude, and competency as any certified Doctor or Medic. This means they should be professional, equally capable, lawful and able to perform any procedure that is possible in this time frame and supported by our server.

For example, say your character is injured. You could roleplay that a Local Doctor came in to assess the wounds, clean them, stitch them up, and wrap the wounds in bandages. You could also have them ask for help if you would like to involved other players - an example would be "/me LD: Please warm up a canteen by the fire and bring it to me." As the injured player, you decide what wounds you have, how severe they are, and how much medical intervention is required to resolve the issue.

It is encouraged that the downed player roleplays as the Local Doctor so that they may still roleplay that they are receiving care without it being 100% "off-screen". When they do, the player themselves should be able to ask most questions, and they should not overly roleplay as a separate character. It is not recommended that additional players outside of the SCDH act as the Local Doctor in place of the injured character as that tends to overstep the bounds of what the SCDH team is there for.

You may also be as detailed as you are comfortable with - there is no expectation of the same sort of knowledge that a Certified member of the SCDH to be able to work your way through Local Doctor MedRP. A range of acceptable examples include but are not limited to:

"LD: The doctor assesses & treats the injuries"

"LD: Pulls out the bullets & sews the wound shut"

"LD: Flushes the wound to assess internal damage"

"LD: Uses tweezers to remove the lodged bullet"

"LD: Stitches up the nicked artery in the neck"
