Charlie Branch and others meet him in the mist of lagaras and Dane tells them to take the deputies body and go to Saint Denis for medical support. As they do that Dane then escapes to run and hide knowing he had broke his own moral code and broke his oath to the Department. He was later found in the basement of the Rhodes gunsmith hiding. Where he admitted Sheriff Lewis to attempted murder of the deputy. He mentioned to her even though did it against his will he also did half ill intent of hurting him out of frustration cause of his current standing in the department.</p>

		+	<p><i><b>The Lagras Del Lobo Incident</i></b> occurred during Dane's second time being reinstated as a Sheriff after his first removal by Deputy Marshal Baker. The [[Del Lobos]] appeared in Saint Denis after a break from a long war with Jack Kettleman's gang that was taking place out in New Austin. The Del Lobos had appeared to criticize Dane's group of deputies as they were "making it difficult" for them to live out in New Austin. As Dane had returned after being reinstated after getting his badge removed due to his bad mental state after his divorce. His mental state was taking a deeper toll due to the events of <i><b>The Tumbleweed Del Lobo Incident</i></b> a year prior. He started to lose trust of his fellow deputies as a sheriff and at the same time it seemed like to his collogues that his mental state wasn't getting any better.</p>

From there The Del Lobos had kidnapped Dane alongside his deputy to retreat out into the swamps of Lagras. From there The leader of the Del Lobos Javier and the rest of his crew go to an abandoned house near the river. From there Javier tries to manipulate and steer the reasons to Dane's current frustration with his purpose and his collogues as "not understanding the full potential to whom he really is". From here Javier successfully gets into Dane's head manipulating him in a confused mix of rage and frustration to gun down a deputy that was fresh to the department in cold blood as a decision between the deputy or his life to be taken.</p>
